Best job between an MA and a PhD?

I'll be graduating with an MA in art history and I'm hoping to apply to PhD programs soon, but in the meantime I'd like to find a position that will contribute to my PhD applications. Any suggestions on where to look?

I have already completed many unpaid internships, one research-based, so I'd prefer to find a full-time job. I've seen listings for fellowships but it looks like you already have to be enrolled in a PhD program.

Take the best grunt job you can get in a museum or gallery or auction house. The last might make the best use of your training.
