bellefast Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I emailed this person on March 22nd. They said the end by the end of this week. Of course, it is not the end just yet. But as the deadline is coming closer when do you think I should contact them about funding. She said that they have not figured out the budget in the last email. (if that helps). Should I email her Monday...Tuesday...or just wait.
jahanzlik Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Is this for a fellowship or starting graduate school? Either way, waiting until Monday is probably better since some people are off today or have taken off. Always keep the emails positive and not too pushy.
bellefast Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 It is for graduate school. I thought only catholic schools are off on good friday. what is considered a pushy email?
TakeruK Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Just keep it short -- for example, on Monday, reply to their previous email to you, with something like "Hello _____, I just wanted to follow up on our last conversation and wondered if you are able to provide more information about funding for my PhD" or something like that. It might get pushy if you start saying things like you need to know by April 15 etc... I'm sure they know about the deadline too! In Canada (and probably the US?) Good Friday is a stat holiday. In some places, Easter Monday is also a stat holiday!

Thanks, I am not sure what I would do without this site and the help of all of you.
