Rice vs SJSU

The only university that accepted me (from my first pool of applications) was Rice. I wanted to do an MS in EE, but I was accepted into the MEE program. After that, I applied to SJSU for their MS program and am waiting for the results (I think I have a good chance of getting in).

My question is, how difficult (if possible) would it be to switch from MEE to MS once I accept Rice's decision. If it's too difficult, would an MS from SJSU (with possible funding?) be better than an MEE from Rice?
