raul_219 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Hi. I'm an international Student already accepted into the UF Master's ECE program with a waiver for the out of state tuition + $1500 for books. April 15th is approaching and I'm still waiting for a decision from Penn State. How are those two compared for this program? And is it worth it to wait as long as I can before responding to UF's offer to wait for Penn State? I already emailed Penn St. a couple of times, one in March and other a couple of days ago. First they told me decisions could last up to the last week of March. And now they told me that it could be up to the middle of April (I'am assuming the 15th). Am I waitlisted or is it just that this takes a long time?
Pauli Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 If you're waitlisted, they would have told you.Ask UF for an extension (wouldn't hurt to try). Both are great ECE programs.
raul_219 Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 I'm still waiting for a response from Penn State. I'm starting to think I should just accept UF's offer since I would probably still go there unless Penn offers me more financial aid. I would already pay less than in-state in Florida so I really doubt this will be the case. But then I would really hate to open my email next week and find out I got a great offer from Penn St. after accepting UF.
prettyuff1 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I would just accept. Your funding sounds awesome and I would accept the sure thing. I did the same thing the program I was hoping to hear back from hasn't sent me anything while the program I accepted was a shot in the dark. An excellent program is an excellent program so take it
raul_219 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 I already accepted the offer from UF . Penn State has still not responded but I just can't wait any longer because I wanna focus in finishing this last semester before graduation and knowing where I'm going in four months is very comforting. I'll probably visit Gainesville for a couple of days after I graduate.
