blubb Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 My goal is a PhD from a great university in the US. I hold a great bachelor degree in EE from Germany (3 years). Now my question: Would it be more helpful for a succesful PhD to - work for two years OR - make a master degree (2 years) before I apply in the US? Thanks :)
tcable7127 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I graduated last summer and have been working in industry as a mechanical engineer since then. After speaking to different professors about their opinions, it seemed clear that if your end goal is a Phd, and you know the area you want to work in, you should go get your Masters. Industry is good for identifying what you would like to do if you don't know quite yet. That's just my two cents...
