blugorila Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Hi, In the university I finally decided to go, I was offered a TA ship and one of the professors also mentioned about giving me a summer aid (something of that sort but did not get any letter as such). However, at that time I wasn't focusing on financial packages and was in a state of confusion about which school to go to. Now, that I have accepted their offer would it be rude / inappropriate to ask the professor about that summer aid? One more thing, he is not my POI. Anyone with a similar situation? need help...
CarlieE Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Have you checked their website? Perhaps this "summer aid" refers to scholarships or fellowships you can apply for but are not guaranteed ie. they are competitive? If not, you could send an email to graduate coordinator asking nicely to give you information about summer grants etc. Depending on their answers you may or may not proceed then to email the professor who told you about this initially.
blugorila Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 No, actually the prof told me that I was already selected but I did not asked him about the details. Contacting the program coordinator would probably be the way to go about it. thanks.
