Are the reasons still fully valid especially job prospects ?

Job prospects always depends on what industry you are going into.

You put your eggs all in one basket in an industry that is hard to get into or has little prospects, "you're gonna have a bad time".

This is the case of whether you have a master/PhD or not.

That being said, I don't pay attention to anything that tries to convince me using platitudes.
