Offer of Admission for M.Eng program in Software engineering from University of Western Ontario

Hi,

I had applied for Fall 2012, M.E.Sc program, Software Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in University of Western Ontario.

Due to lack of supervisors in my area of interest, they have offered me admission for M.Eng program which is typically a one-year course and in contrast to M.E.Sc program , is not research oriented. I have been offered no financial assistance.

I want to know, how much weight does this carry ?

What are my prospects after this degree ?

Is it worth doing it, as I will have to take loan for this ?

Are students allowed to do part time off campus jobs in Canada ?
