Oxford DPhil in Development Studies

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of applying to the DPhil in Development at Oxford. I have a background in economics, but want to do something more interdisciplinary going forward. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has applied or is doing this program, and I am desperately in need of more information i.e. how competitive it is, tips on how to prepare the application, how strong my quantitative background would have to be etc. I've tried to get as much information as I could from the website and their admissions department, but I would like an inside perspective from those who have actually applied.

So basically, if you've applied to this program and have any sort of insight which could be helpful, I would love to hear it.
