JessHooi Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Hi all, I'm aiming to apply for PhD programme in developmental psychology with focus on affective science, social emotional development (in relations to inconsistent/poor parenting and socioeconomical backgrounds) for Fall 2013. I've narrowed down to 6-7 schools namely 1) UCLA (top choice) 2) Yale 3) Berkeley 4) University of Toronto 5) Stanford 6) Washington University in St. Louis 7) University of North Carolina I am aware that most of the schools in my list are in the "wishlist" category and am wondering if anyone would be aware of any other programmes that might not be as well known but provides good training and faculty in my area of interest? Many thanks to any contributions!!
stereopticons Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 It's not really my area, so I don't know of a lot of programs, but I know Virginia Commonwealth University has a good developmental program that may be close to what you're looking for. It's a good school, but probably a little less competitive than the schools you have listed. Good luck!
Adri.C Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Hi have you considered University of Victoria or Simon Fraser University?
