lost_0101 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Didn't see this covered in the application 'Interviews' area, so I wanted to check - how many people here did an interview before they applied? Or any benefits from reaching out to your prospective program professors and asking to interview? I'm looking @ the typical HKS, WWW, SAIS, Goldman, Jackson, LSE. Thanks!
OregonGal Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I didn't get the impression from any of the programs that I applied to that interviews were part of the admissions process--I assume because they could be seen to confer an unfair advantage on the small number of people with the resources or geographic location to be able to interview. WWS may be different since it's such a small program.
Eclectic4 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 There is one that I know of. University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government (MPA and Executive MPA). They require an interview for the executive mpa and offer an optional one for the regular mpa.
cunninlynguist Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 CIPA (the MPA program at Cornell) requires applicants to conduct a video interview. They also strongly encourage in-person visits.
