I am having a difficult time with figuring out how to write this paper; do not know if this is the place to post it or not but thought I would give a try.

The assignment: The purpose is for you (the student) to conceptualize/discuss your views of social work purpose(s) within social work practice venues. You will discuss how your practice conceptualization has been actualized or not in your work with clients. You will integrate your experience plus our reading material. You need to describe your social work concept for practice, using theory, models, research, and practice wisdom. You need to explain how you came to your understanding and how your concept of social work has played out with your clients. You need to integrate your fieldwork experience with material you discuss. You are required to critically analyze your work and the social work practice within your field agency, substantiating your analyses with the practice literature and with available date from the practice dilemmas you have faced (successfully and unsuccessfuly).

This is my first semester of grad work. I don't know many theories or models and our teacher just has us read material and we haven't gone over much. I am very uncertain what is being asked and how to encorporate theories/models with my personal experiences.

Help???

This is just a guess, but this assignment sounds like it wants you to discuss the relationship between theory you're covering in your readings and practice that is unique to your field work experience. Basically, what you think should happen (theory) versus what might actually be happening; e.g. social work saves lives and eradicates social ills because XYZ! but my client still engages in destructive behaviors despite X approach, though he appears more responsive to Y technique--why? To be terribly simplistic about it, anyway.

Hopefully that is useful. I would begin by revisiting your readings and seeing what correlates with your practice experience.
