Hi,

I am currently a math major (computer science minor) from a highly obscure university in Kansas. I am interested in programs that combine CS and math. The ones that I have found include Stanford, Emory, Northwestern, and Johns Hopkins. My academic interests lie in data mining, analytics (currently doing an analytics internship at a major telecom firm), statistics, and artificial intelligence. The Stanford program (Computational and Mathematical Engineering) seemed to be a really good fit, but I was wondering if there were other programs that would be interesting to look at. I spoke with an adm rep at Northwestern for the Analytics program and it seemed interesting, but it lacks a strong theoretical foundation in mathematics and CS. Oh, and here are my stats:

Cumulative GPA: 3.97

Major GPA: 4.0

Research: research internship at a think tank (Political Science...probably irrelevant)

Non-research Internships: analytics internship at telecom firm (offered another internship for same firm next summer)

P.S. I am not very considered with the reputation of the school. I am only concerned with the school that is the best fit.
