scholl43 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Hi everyone, I'm returning to these forums after a few years away. I went through the application process for MPP and similar programs back in '09. I ultimately decided to go with a job instead of grad school, but now I feel like I'm a little more focused and it's time to apply again. I'm already doing my own research, but I thought I'd ask if anyone out there can recommend programs that would give me the skills I'd want to enter a job with either a foundation or USAID where I would be reviewing grant applications, evaluating programs, etc. I think that would be my ideal position, but wouldn't mind working on the M&E side of things for a NGO. Thoughts?
OregonGal Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 If you want to do more of the quant/program eval stuff, I'd suggest taking another look at JHU SAIS. Their quant focus is so strong that it would provide you with that eval toolkit, and the fact that you got waitlisted without the three years of experience you have now is a good sign. You could also look at programs with strong IDEV or Non-Profit Management concentrations, as I imagine those are areas where you'd find a lot of those applicable skills being developed.
