wcu02mpa Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hello to all, I am new to the forum and am considering returning for a PhD in Geography (looking at UNCG). I am wanting to focus on emergency and radio commmunications as relating to improving emergency management, public safety and radio interoperability. I have both an MA in Geography/Planning and a Master of Public Administration. I have solid GPA's...3.7 in both and am in two academic honor societies. I have also been published several times in for-profit periodicals. I am over six years of full time sworn law enforcement experience and 16 years of HAM radio and hold a commercial FCC license. I live and breathe radio communications and did most of my masters work in radio comms as related to geography and researching trends and new technologies . Any thoughts from anyone either in this area or know anyone who has explored this? Thanks, Mike
NightCartographer Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I don't know which academics work in this but maybe Ed Malecki might be worth sending an email to, maybe he could direct you toward people doing good work in this field. http://www.geography.osu.edu/faculty/malecki/
