UltraPro Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hello, so i am currently a masters teaching assistant, but was recently offered an RA position with a professor other than my advisor for the following year in geochemistry( which is weird because i have almost no chemistry, i study geophysics). Is this a weird situation or am i making too much of this? I def have the skills required to be a RA ( I know how to take water samples), but I think it would be weird to work for someone other than my advisor. hmm anyway, hope u guys are having a good summer and good luck on all your adventures!
DarwinAG Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 In my opinion, you want to work with as many different people as possible. Your advisor will understand. He/she does not have claim to you. Plus, it is nice to develop other academic relationships outside of your advisor.
