SPEECH PATHOLOGY and GRE's

I would like to get into a CUNY school for Speech (Queens, Brooklyn, Lehman, Hunter)...Obviously I am not limiting my choices, so I am also applying to places in New York. My question is, how important are the GRE's. Obviously, I am going to do as well as I can, but my verbal is bad. I have a good "gre vocab" but am so awful at understanding the sentence, I more often than not, get it wrong

According to the open house Lehman looks for GRE scores in the 150 range. (the new test/new scoring)
