MiamiLaowai Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Hi all, I'm new here so if this is not where "chances" topics go I apologize in advance, but I'm trying to get a reading on where I'm at and what my options are. Stats - Degree: B.A. in International Relations from a solid public university, certificates/minors in Chinese Studies and National Security Studies - Final GPA: 3.94, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa - Research: Year-long honors thesis on Chinese-Pakistani relations, which I got to present at a cool undergrad conference called NCUR. - Language: Two years of Mandarin Chinese classes. - GRE scores: Decent, planning to re-take this fall and make more impressive. I graduated in the spring, and am using my spare time to work and make grad school more financially viable for a Fall 2013 entry. Most of my work experience is not exactly connected to my degree, but I'm going to try and supplement that with volunteer work. My passion is for Asia-Pacific affairs and the politics of new technologies, which drew me to the MPIA program. All in all, does this profile qualify me for the MPIA? Should I be aiming higher, lower, to programs of similar caliber? Thanks guys!
