Pre-PT_Student Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Hello everyone, So I am currently a senior a the UNM and plan to apply for the UNM PT graduate school this winter. I am just curious what others think my chances might be? Should I really try retaking the GRE when I already have a hard course load? GRE Scores: Quant: 159 (77%) Verbal: 154 (61%) AW: 3.5 (30%) GPA: 4.02 Experience: Volunteered approximately 100-150 hours in clinical settings. Internship this last summer: 180 hours
Shostakovich Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I don't think there's a way to know if your credentials are really good enough. A lot of schools publish the average scores of admitted applicants so maybe compare it to that? You didn't even say what program you're referring to, each department has different standards as to what they're looking for in terms of grades, test scores, and experience. And even then anyone outside of the faculty can't really assess your qualifications, it's not like the exact formula of admissions is ever released. Good luck.
Pre-PT_Student Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Yea sorry I did forget to put what program. I am applying to the UNM PT Grad/Doc program this winter. I did look up their averages and my Quant, Verbal and GPA fall above the average admitted. The AW average is a 4.0 so one bracket higher than my score.
