NYU vs. Teachers College

Thoughts on the Education programs at NYU Steinhardt and Columbia's Teachers College? It would help to read opinions on the different programs, faculty, doctoral students, etc. But also funding, cost of living, housing, etc. I've never been to New York and it's tough to make a decision from all the way across the country!

I am interested also. And perhaps other schools? Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison of the top education schools? (And by "anyone" I mean students in the programs - not people wanting to make money!)

I applied to both as well... I think Columbia TC is more recognized and offers more professional tracks, while NYU is apparently more expensive and draws a younger, less professional crowd (people who have less work experience, anyway). I'm 22 so I imagine I'll get into NYU over Columbia, but would take a TC offer in a heartbeat.
