Anthonally Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I'm looking for M.A. Counseling Psychology programs that offer a concentration working with the LGBT population. Thus far I haven't had much luck finding programs like this, and I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm also curious about the practicalities of going for a M.A. vs a PhD in Counseling Psych. From what I've heard, the benefit of going for a PhD is that you can sit for a licensing exam in nearly every state without having to take particular classes in that state, whereas with an M.A. your degree is fairly limited to the state in which it was earned. Anyone know how true this is, or if there are any other factors I should consider?
