thebeatgoeson
Hi all, Is anyone else attending/presenting at SAMLA in November? I actually managed to get a paper accepted (my first conference), and I'd love to swing by some panels and see what other GCers are working on. Also, post-conference drinks don't sound awful. Ever. Cheers.
bfat
Where is that being held this year? I'm co-hosting a panel at NeMLA in the spring, but I've never attended a conference before (eek!), so I want to see a few panels in action before I make an idiot of myself in March. If it's within easy driving range of Maryland, I might attend.
ProfLorax
Hey guys! Since you are both presenting/attenting conferences for the first time, I thought I'd share this awesome resource with you. I asked the writers at ProfHacker for some tips about presenting at a conference, and they devoted a whole post to the topic. Here's another post they wrote about how to get the most at an academic conference. I hope they are helpful! bfat
thebeatgoeson
Hey Proflorax, that is awesome. Thanks so much. bfat, the conference is being held at Duke this year. I got lucky; I'm just down the road in Raleigh. I don't know that I'd call that "easy driving range" from where you are.
