What should I ask professors?

I'm sending out emails to professors at schools where I have been accepted. What do I ask? Right now I'm just asking if they are going to be there a while and if they are taking new students. What else?

Bumping this thread because I'm planning on e-mailing a professors in different departments fairly soon.

I went to the website listen, but I felt I could learn more about what people on here have actually written. Anybody want to post a sample letter they've written or specific questions they've used to convey their interest?
