Cmillmbs Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hello, I am looking for a program which could incorporate isotopic analysis and osteological analysis. I am interested in seeing what information can be determined when addressing both isotopic data and pathological analysis of a skeletal population. Choosing schools to apply to is proving very difficult. ASU seems to be the only school that has a program and advisers that could support my topic. All the other schools seem to have one good adviser but the programs each seem to be missing something I was hoping to have in my graduate education. I have been changing my mind by adding and subtracting schools every time I think about applying. These are the schools and advisers I am looking at today: ASU - Kelly Knudson, Rachel Scott, Jane Buirkstra, Brenda Baker GSU - Bethany Turner Purdue - Michele Buzon U of Illinois-Chicago - Sloan Williams Vanderbilt - Tiffany Tung U of Florida - John Krigbaum U of Calgary - M. Anne Katzenberg Does anyone have any advice about the schools or advisers above or some place I have missed? I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance
anthropologygeek Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Reading this at first with just isotopes I thought of asu. However, there are more universities that do this.
LongGraduatedStudent Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 John Krigbaum is awesome. Email him first to make sure he is taking students for the coming fall though. He has a large number of graduate students at present (but UF does admit a lot of students )
zinj_man Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 You might also consider Dr. Ambrose at the University of Illinois, or Dr. Kingston at Emory University.
