ununtrium Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Hello everyone, I am trying to decide whether to do a PhD in tribology or not. The problem is that my long term goal is to get a job in the industry not in the academia. However I don't know whether it is easy to get a job in the industry for someone specialized in tribology. Can you please share your opinions and experience about the tribology sector? Are there many job opportunities? My search over the internet returned some companies working in the tribology sector however the opinions of sb familiar with this industry would be valuable.
KindaHardWorker Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Since you're going into industry instead of academia, I would ask you this question: what degree do you need to do the job that you want to do? I'd guess there are very few positions for what you've mentioned.
