Where can I do my research in the USA?

Hi!

I'm from Brazil, and I'm starting the applications to my PhD in Political Science/International Relations (Did my master in Rio de Janeiro). My subject of study is sexual abuse by military peacekeepers (gendes studies+Security studies), and the methodology I will apply is mainly qualitative. Do you think an American university would be interested in this kind of topic (not traditional at all), or should I focus only in European ones? (I have already applied to LSE and Geneva)

Elisabeth Jean Wood at Yale does related work. I would look her up. If you don't have the credentials to get into Yale, you might see where some of her students doing work along these lines have ended up teaching.
