C_Chattra Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I'm applying for MS Applied Developmental Psychology at U of Pittsburgh and was wondering if I should tackle the diversity statement even if it's optional? And if I don't, do you think this will hurt my chance of admission?
Shelley Burian Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I would consider how much it would add to your application before spending the time. Does the school have a definition for what they include under the heading of diversity? If you find that you really don't have much to say then you might want to it leave be.
DarlingNikki Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Great suggestion above. If it won't add quality to your application then it's not necessary. However, if you think it may bring value and depth to your total application then it may be worth the addition. I personally wrote the optional statement. ((shrugs))
