KJ5 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I"m currently applying to PhD programs in Psychology and am wondering if others with my credentials have gotten into a program. So, unfortunately I have a terrible UG GPA (2.9), but did really well my last two years. I've since been taking grad courses in my field to make up for it and have a 4.0 GPA. My GREs are great for verbal and writing (90th percentiles), quant is a bit lower. I have two years of research experience as a research assistant, and one year of research at the grad level, including independent projects which will be submitted for publication. My LORs are great and my research plans are really focused. I've only chosen to apply to schools that have faculty studying what I plan to. Is acceptance possible with a terrible UG GPA?
