Guest finallynumb03 Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Hey Guys, I don't know if anyone else is considering both these schools seriously. I'm trying to decide on which would be a better fit for a solid mechanics PhD. I like both school considerably, but maybe would enjoy the research at berkeley more. However, Harvard is paying much better than UCB is. I know UCB is more well known in Engineering but I don't think going to Harvard is going to make me less competitive when I start looking for a job. I visited both places and enjoyed both areas and both academic enviornment were nice. I need to make a decision soon, any input would be great.
Guest chych Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 For what it's worth, one of my professors went to Harvard for PhD in solid mechanics.
