paulking Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 As an International student I do not quite understand what experiences can be called research assistant. I once participated in a professor's research and did some work together with his graduates. He did not give me any title and few undergraduates would participate in professors' research in my college, so I have no idea whether I can list this experience as a research assistant.
intlrlns Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 You may want to check with the professor to see if he would call you a 'research assistant'..I've had a few research opportunities with my professors in college and I was RA on payroll...I don't know what else you would call this position, perhaps just 'researcher'
blakeblake Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 If you were paid, ask your professor/department what your title was. If you were not paid, call yourself a "Research Volunteer for Professor X" and list the position in the volunteer or service section of your cv.
