Geograffe Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I'm trying to compile a list of top digital humanities programs and their research centers (in no particular order). There are a few that really stand out as leaders, and I will list them below, but I am wondering if anybody else has suggestions. This could be a really good resource for prospective graduate students in the field. University of Nebraska-Lincoln (CDRH) Michigan State University (MATRIX) University of Virginia (IATH) University of Maryland (MITH) Stanford University (CESTA/SHC) University of Illinois (I-CHASS/IPRH) Geograffe 1
korartiz Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I applied to MA/MS programs in varying digital humanities fields. Part of the great thing about the area is that it's still so new that schools don't really know what to do with it. Anyways, here's my list of schools and their coinciding programs. MIT -- Comparative Media Studies UFlorida -- English -- Media studies + Visual rhetoric to create your own track. UWisconsin Milwaukee -- English -- Digital Studies track UCSC -- English -- Technologies of Narrative track UDenver -- Emergent Digital Practices Georgia Tech -- Digital Media UTexas Dallas -- Emergent Media and Communications The New School -- Media Studies DePaul -- New Media Studies
uromastyx Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I am somewhat familiar with Todd Presner, UCLA.
Katzenmusik Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 George Mason has a top-notch digital humanities center: http://chnm.gmu.edu/ I think it's based in the history department, though it seems quite interdisciplinary in its scope. ArtHistoryandMuseum 1
