arman.arasteh Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Funny video about a rather unspoken difference between men and women! What do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrT3yq0ZyN0 arman.arasteh and jacib 1 1
mbrown0315 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I think mate selection is a wonderful example of an issue in which sociology really needs to draw more extensively from biology. The reification of society here is useful, but only if we recognize society's "decision" about a man or woman's desirability as partially derivative of lasting (and probably somewhat fixed) biological phenomena. http://www.jstor.org/discover/10.2307/27698771?uid=3738240&uid=2129&uid=2&uid=70&uid=4&sid=47698822597507 By the way, I don't see the relevance or veracity of the clip's starting assumption.

arman.arasteh Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Thanks for the reply mbrown. The clip was qoutung a famous joke is psychology that: a guy gets to have a wish from a jinn and he wishes for thee nights with a beutiful women; after the third night jinn asks if you have another wish and the guy responds that yeah bring my colleage here. So jinn appears his colleage and the guys tells his colleage: "guess with whom I spent the last three nights". In short the guy needed the society to enjoy his three nights with a beatiful women. This is a quality in both men and women but i found it much stronger in women. I think mate selection is a wonderful example of an issue in which sociology really needs to draw more extensively from biology. The reification of society here is useful, but only if we recognize society's "decision" about a man or woman's desirability as partially derivative of lasting (and probably somewhat fixed) biological phenomena. http://www.jstor.org/discover/10.2307/27698771?uid=3738240&uid=2129&uid=2&uid=70&uid=4&sid=47698822597507 By the way, I don't see the relevance or veracity of the clip's starting assumption. arman.arasteh and jacib 1 1
