Linguistics - Books for beginner.

Hello, 

I'm first grade student of English. In my university we've started the course of descriptive grammar and I must say I really like it. Especially phonology, syntax and semantics. During our classes we do some exercises connected with tree diagrams etc. but it is not enough for me. Could you recommend me some books to improve and expand my knowledge it the field of linguistics because I fell that it may be the thing which I can take up in the future
