Hi, I was just wondering about something that happened regarding my graduate application process. As I was applying to schools for a PhD in engineering last year, I contacted several professors. A few days later, I received an email for an informal interview from one postdoc that worked in the lab and he seemed to be interested in figuring out if I could fit in with the rest of the lab.

I was very enthusiastic and familiar with several projects being done in the lab. The interviewer even told me to keep him updated with everything, asked me where I was with the application, and discussed the potential to work in the lab as early as the summer. However, I never heard back from this person ever again.

What do you think happened? Should I just cross the school out of my list (assuming a rejection)?

Thanks a lot guys...
