Hello, Scholar29. I applied to the EdD program at USC on 1/1/13. I got an e-mail last week saying that I was missing a transcript and asking if I could re-send it. The e-mail went on to say that they were in the process of reviewing applications, but to date my status on the ApplyYourself website hasn't changed - it still just says "Submitted."

Hey there! I applied on 2/1/13, and on 2/19 received word from the graduate office that my application was complete and would be sent to the school of education. So now I am awaiting an email from the school of education that my application is ready for review by the committee. Hopefully, I receive the email this week and that they make their decision within the next few weeks. I am going crazy!

Interesting. I've been trying to gauge when the decisions were sent out in past years, but there don't appear to be too many EdD Program applicants on this site, except for applicants to Harvard's program. But I hear you, I just hope we hear back soon!

Anyone have an update from usc on their status? Mine says "reporting status" and below by application still says submitted. I got an email saying my application was up for review and the email also had dates for orientation. Anyone else hear yet?

Hey Poosher, I am in the same boat. I received that email on 2/28, and have yet to see my "submitted" status change on the online application. I am optimistic we will have an answer this week, as it will be exactly a month and a half since the 2/1 deadline. Are you applying for the higher ed program or k-12?

K-12 education. What about you? Suspense is killing me! I thought we'd hear by now.

K-12 as well! I thought that if we submitted our app by the early deadline, we would hear back soon after. Guess not...

Good news to report. I received an offer of admission by the Rossier School of Education today. I received the email at about 2:30 pm.

i haven't heard yet. Makes me worried. Out of curiosity, did you take the GRE? If so, what were your scores?

Thank you! Yes, I did take GRE, but scores were not great. V 148, Q 144, AW 4. This was my biggest concern throughout the application process. Did you take it as well?

I did take it. I got v 167 and q 156 and ws 4.5. I applied 2/4 so I'm hoping I still have a shot! so excited for you though. Such a relief I bet.

I haven't. I did get a phone call letting me know that I was accepted to UCLA, but nothing from USC.

Congrats on UCLA! That's fantastic! Are you going there?

Thank you! I'm not sure where I'm going yet. I would like to see about SC first, then make a decision. Those are the only two schools I applied to. We'll see.

 

How about you? Did you apply anywhere else? Is waiting for USC driving you as crazy as it is me?

I just applied to those two as well. I figured UCLA was a long shot. I didn't get it in but I had a feeling.   Just hoping to hear from USC soon! agh!

Still waiting:( I've been calling but no official word--applied in January, received all same emails mentioned by others...thought I'd hear something by now--but nothing. I've called a few times, even sent out a few emails, and just get generic responses: "faculty's still reviewing," so this is alll quite disheartening. At this point, just want to hear something--one way or another. All my fall plans are on hold. Am getting quite neurotic--checking email, junk folder and snail-mail RELIGIOUSLY thrice (if not more) a day. And finally found this blog! Thank you! I thought I was the only one going through this. Applied to the Ed. Psych. Program. Any news?????

Hey! After checking my email constantly I just got an email last night saying they needed 2 transcripts! Agh! I sent these in already but I guess it was awhile ago. Hopefully once they get these I'll hear soon. I sent my app 2/4. Good luck!

Glad you heard something--I'm still waiting...last time I emailed anyone was in February, so I figured it was ok to email and follow up again--I sent an email on Friday hoping maybe next week I'll hear something...as much as I'd love to get in, I honestly have no clue what the verdict is...I suppose at this point any email would be nice...just crossing my fingers and hoping for a positive outcome (or any outcome at this point).  Good luck to everyone!
