Can anyone shed some light on the MBA at UM? What have people thought about the strength of the program? I am interested in getting an MBA from UM with a concentration in Health Care (MD/MBA), so I am trying to gain some more information on what the students themselves thought about the MBA program in general. Also, I wanted to see what the job prospects were like after graduating from UM.

The U Miami MBA is AACSB accredited, which is good, because some employers now-days will not hire MBAs if your program was not AACSB accredited. I think that if you are from southern Florida, and plan to work in Florida, and will do this MBA part-time while working, it would be fine. But it's not a "name" program, so it's going to be seen as any other, similarly ranked MBA - as just fine, completely solid, but not "wow". It is one of the better ranked programs in FL (the only other one in the top 100 is U Florida, which ranks much higher.)

If you are from FL, it's probably going to be more expensive than an MBA from one of the public unis there. If cost is an issue for you, you may want to also look at the MBAs from some of your public unis. U Florida offers an MBA in south Florida, although I'm not sure how close their location is to you: http://floridamba.ufl.edu/workingprofessional/professionalSF/
