nicolu Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 In short, this is what happened: I talked up my research blog in my SOP, included the URL, and one of my professors let me know that he talked it up in his letter as well. Because of that, I'm fairly confident that any committees considering me seriously will look at my blog. Skip to the end of January. I have a feedjit on my blog that lets me know which city and state my readers come from, and around January 30 I noticed that one of my readers came from Ann Arbor, Michigan. U Michigan is my top choice, so I was thrilled that they were apparently showing interest. I've been downhearted today when I came across this results search and learned that Michigan notified students of acceptance and waitlist status over the past few days. I have heard nothing. Maybe I'm letting too much ride on acceptance to Michigan . . . but is it too late for me to keep hoping?

zapster Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Perhaps find a way to reach out to a POI - ask them if they would like some more information or another writing sample etc. If they are prioritizing between 2 or 3 students at the latter stages of their process for example, a reminder highlighting that you are still very enthusiastic about the program will not hurt.
