Are they crazy? They've been telling prospective students that they won't get a decision until April, or May "at the latest."

What?!

Every other school wants a decision from me, and I'm assuming everyone else, by tax day at the latest.

Any ideas on what to do? Anyone have any experience with CUNY Grad Center?

Wait.... what?! Where did you hear this from?

Edit: Seems like we've applied to some of the same schools that many others seem to have not.. (great minds, that's all I'm saying)

Wow.  That is really late..

I applied to CUNY GC as well but for the biology program.  I received my admission decision two weeks ago or so.  Do you know if political science at CUNY GC is a popular program?

Ha ha, yea, great minds!

I called the political science department, and the person there told me that I should call admissions, and then admissions told me to talk to political science, and then back and forth. Finally, admissions told me that they usually don't send acceptances out until April or even May. The person in the department told me to talk to the program coordinator or some such, but "she's only in on Wednesdays." I didn't get a chance to call earlier today.

Did they email you or send you a snail mail or...? I don't know how popular it is, actually. I've heard some people say it's bad, some say it's very good - hard to gauge, and their website is awful if you want to use it to actually find out anything about the department.

The financial aid office sent me an e-mail first, then received an e-mail from the department few days later, then finally received official letters from the department and the financial aid office.  Your admission status does get updated on their application website though.

And yeah, their website is pretty terrible haha.

Your info came first from financial aid and then the department notified you of acceptance into the program?! What?!

Haha yeah.. That's why I was so confused when I got the e-mail from the financial aid office.  As soon as I got that e-mail, I checked my application status, and it said I was accepted into the program o_O..  I feel like this school's pretty disorganized.. But yeah.. I'm planning on making a visit next week for the program's open house event.

At least your program is organized enough to have an open house event scheduled and publicized. The political science department still lists an open house that took place in Nov. of 2012 as their only activity.

I just called the department. Was told very curtly "you'll hear in a couple of weeks." No other info was given. Sigh.

I applied to the Political Science program at CUNY and got a phone call a couple weeks ago from the director asking about my interest in the program. After that I checked the website shortly after and the status of my admission status had been changed to accepted with a notice that a written letter would be sent shortly detailing their offer.  So, it seems like decisions are starting to come out. That being said, they don't seem to be too far behind. I only just heard back from a different school this week and am still waiting on my school.
