Hi everyone! I am new to GradCafe, but am definitely becoming hooked. :)

Anyways, here is my dilemma:

I have been accepted into the University of Manitoba's Native Studies MA with a potential research assistantship, as well as Trent University's Canadian & Indigenous Studies MA with a fellowship, scholarship, and potential TAship.

My desire is to focus on indigenous literature, but I also want to be able to work with/connect with indigenous communities if at all possible.

I am currently torn between these two programs. Manitoba's program would offer me the opportunity to take English courses alongside Native Studies courses. Further, Manitoba is also more prestigious. But I am also very attracted to Trent's small and intimate cohort, as well as the variety of courses that they offer.

I am wondering if anyone is familiar with either of these programs/could offer me insight. Thanks! Best of luck with grad apps.
