pondhopper Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Where is everyone going? I'm currently deciding between UCSD, Tulane, and IU - Bloomington; does anyone have any suggestions? All three have offered full funding (the FLAS to study Portuguese at UCSD and Tulane, and a Spanish TAship at IU), so that isn't really a deciding factor (though Bloomington is by far the cheapest place to live). There are some really exciting professors at Tulane, though I think I like San Diego better as a location (and the idea of in-state tuition eligibility in CA after the first year is very appealing both for my own future studies and my SO's). The opportunities for Latin American-related internships and contacts are pretty endless there, plus I'd have the benefit of the consortium. And then IU seems like the most welcoming place, and has a couple of profs I'm excited about working with. Thoughts?
