Unfortunately, the scholarship is not through the school but through a central organization in the school's country, and they seem very firm on publishing the results in one go, so I expect that asking to know earlier wouldn't be possible.

You could still ask the schools that want to hear earlier for an extension though.

I would say in this case, make a deposit for your second choice to this school. If you get the scholarship, politely withdraw due to "unforeseen circumstances" it is a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
