Starling2003 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Hi! Just wondering if any of you are working full time while attending school, and if so, how has that worked for you and any ideas or suggestions? I am a part time student but work full time. So far it has been working very well, but starting in the fall I have to add on a 16 hour a week practicum to my schedule, as well as two classes. I still can't fathom how it is going to work out to keep my job, even if they are willing to work with me as best as they can.... Anyone have any success stories in regards to working full time and being a student?

Anyone have any success stories in regards to working full time and being a student? I know people who have done it, but they've worked for agencies that were able to double as their practicum. Perhaps you could find a weekend practicum or something like that? It would be daunting, to say the least, but it might be your most feasible option.
Purplescarves Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 My roommate is attending part-time. For the past two years she has worked and attended school, with no practicum requirement. She knew that once the practicum begin that she would not be able to work full-time so she is resigning to focus solely on school. It's a tough situation, but necessary due to the cost of the MSW being so high.
