Ev890 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Hey everyone. I applied to masters programs in Columbia TC, St. Johns, SUNY Albany, Brooklyn College, and Queens College. So far I got accepted into all except Brooklyn and Columbia- I'm still waiting for a reply from those. I managed to easily narrow my choices down to Albany, Queens, and Brooklyn (given that I get in) simply because they are very affordable. My dilemma is this- I know that SUNY Albany has a really good program, and they also offer a Psy.D for which I would most likely apply for after I get my masters, BUT ultimately I would like to work in or around NYC, so since Brooklyn and Queens Colleges are in that area and would also provide me with practicum and internship experiences there, should I choose one of those instead? Does location really matter when it comes to looking for jobs and does it matter where I get my masters if I decide to later pursue a Psy.D? Lastly, if anyone knows details about the Queens and Brooklyn College School psychology programs please share- which one of the two is better? THANKS!!
