HappyEngineer Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 It seems to me that lots of Aerospace companies in US only hire American citizens. Anybody else got a different opinion on this topic? HappyEngineer 1
alui88 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 The problem with the aerospace field is that half the jobs are tied to defense, so you have to be a US citizen. There is a portion that only requires you to satisfy ITAR (lots of the commercial space stuff); so depending on what country you're a citizen of, it excludes even more jobs. A lot of aerospace engineers are going going into energy related fields, wind turbines, gas turbines, etc. It is really down to what you want to do within the field since aerospace encompasses a bit of everything. Hope this helps. HappyEngineer 1
