Is it weird I got accepted to NYU but not CUNY?

Quite strange, I got rejected from cuny too. Didn't apply to NYU but I know it's an excellent school. Congrats

I haven't been notified by CUNY yet. Should I be worried? It said on their website that acceptances would be sent out by first week of April but it seems some of you have already received them.

Do you know anything about NYU's j-school? I'm struggling to decide between syracuse and nyu and I'm not sure if NYU is as good a school as syracuse.

I know very little about the CUNY program, so this could be completely off base..but sometimes schools will reject you if they feel you're overqualified and know you're using them as a safety school. As an undergrad I got into a few of my top choices but was rejected by other schools quite unexpectedly. Like I said that might not be the case in this specific instance as I'm not really sure what CUNY's program is like (compared to NYU) but it's been known to happen.

CUNY grad j-school is quite different from undergrad. any undergrad can get into a cuny school. but the j-school is very hard .
