Fordham

Hey, so this is a thread for anyone planning to start at Fordham in the fall. I'm going for a PhD in philosophy. Coming from Villanova. Any questions/answers to probable questions might be helpful too. And anyone who's in philosophy or another humanities subject and looking for a roommate in the fall, let me know!

I'm also headed to Fordham from Villanova and looking for a roommate (I'm pursuing a Ph.D. in English).  I'm looking into graduate student housing at the moment. Where are you thinking about living?  Are you familiar with the New York area?

Not especially but if I remember correctly many of the grad students in philosophy at least will be living in Woodlawn heights apartments which is a bit north of Fordham, still in the Bronx near the northern border, on the metro line. I'm not sure if students from other grad departments live there but I imagine if its a good gig they must. Are you a graduating senior at nova now? We've probably

met if you are.

I graduated two years ago.  I did my M.A. at nova but not undergrad--the only people I knew were in the English department.

Woodlawn heights has a good price, though hard to tell how long a walk it is to the metro.  Searching for apartments is somewhat daunting, since I'm unfamiliar with the area and will need something that's furnished.  Are you in contact with any of the other philosophy students who live in those apartments?

Yeah I'm pretty sure a number of ten are going to be living there next year. I'm not sure that they're furnished though.
