How long to wait to hear of opportunities...?

So, approximately how long should you wait to hear about financial aid from a school? I was recently accepted in a program about a week ago but have received no information about financial aid opportunities as of yet. Should I contact the school about its opportunities or is that rude?

At Maryland I believe they don't tell you about financial aid until sometime in July, after they've dolled out all their money to their undergraduates. This, of course, excludes TA/GA/RA and fellowship opportunities so I'll just be waiting purely to hear how much I can take out in loans.

Thanks for the information. I expect to have to take some out in loans, but I am hoping for the best with funding!
