Graduate Dorms in the University of Virginia

Hi everyone,

 

I am from overseas, and I have been admitted to the University of Virginia, in a graduate program, and am starting in August. I am thinking of living in the dorms there. I wanted to know whether anyone has had experience with the dorms there. While there are many advantages to this, I am sure, my fear is from the "dorms" mentatlity as it is depicted in many cultural representations of American college academic life. I don't know how much this effects the graduate dorms. I certainly do not want to live in a place where I have difficulty sleeping or studying due to drinking loudly and things of this nature.

 

Does anyone have knowledge of the situation there?
