Addressing a Change in Research Interests

Hello All,

 

I have a question regarding SOPs. How do I address the fact that I want to pursue graduate level research that is, in the same field (archaeology), but unrelated to the research I did as an undergraduate? I'm afraid I will not seem like a good fit for my departments of interest because I come from a different research background.

I don't know that you'd need to address it at all. Neither of my undergraduate research projects are related to what I want to research as a grad student, and no concern was raised whatsoever. I don't think there's any expectation that you'd continue your undergraduate work into grad school.
