Leo1987 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 The following question was presented to me: 'Can you name a situation where the decision of a social worker would be above the law' I instantly thought NO. However I have considered this further and was wondering what are others views on this matter?? In relation to the Human Rights Act 1998 and other social work 'primary' legislation its looks to be a grey area in terms of invasion of 'private' family life. Any suggestions or views are appreciated.
Optismistic Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I don't know about "above the law" social workers work within the law. There are always amendments, exceptions to laws when pertaining to potential harm, dangers, and threats (especially to the vulnerable). Social workers are here to protect, guide, educate, prevent, intervene.
